Momentum Wealth’s culinary masters provide helping hand
It could have been mistaken for an episode of Master Chef or My Kitchen Rules when Momentum Wealth staff recently volunteered to cook for some of Perth’s most needy.
The mix of volunteers from our finance, commercial and accounts divisions helped to prepare and deliver meals for the homeless at the Beacon centre in Perth’s CBD.
The Beacon is a homeless shelter that, in addition to providing accommodation for more than 100 men, also dishes up 3 meals a day for its residents.
The centre, which is run by the Salvation Army, provides crisis and transitional accommodation for men for up to 6 months and allows residents to return to independence through employment services, training courses and drug and alcohol services.
The Beacon also provides meals for Graceville, the domestic violence refuge for women, and Bridge House, a rehabilitation centre and for the Salvation Army’s emergency services team who provide assistance during natural disasters.
The Momentum Wealth team took time out of their schedules to make sandwiches and prepare and cook pizzas, pasta, lasagne and other meals for the less fortunate.
Momentum Wealth’s participation in the initiative is part of the company’s commitment to REIWA’s Community REInvest program, which helps to support WA’s most vulnerable and disadvantaged people.
