Wilson is located just 8 kilometres from the Perth CBD and sits in the City of Canning.

As well as being close to the city centre, Wilson is also just 2km from Curtin University and 2.5km from Waterford Plaza Shopping Centre and Westfield Carousel.

The suburb, which has a median house price of $571,000, has a median age of 33 and a population of about 5,700 residents.

It’s zoned mostly medium density (R25 and R30) with about 82% of dwellings being houses and 17% duplexes, villas and townhouses. There is also minimal state housing in the area.

About 60% of the properties are either fully owned or being purchased and about 34% of stock is being rented.

The area was first developed in the 1950s and now features a mix of new and old housing stock following extensive revitalization.

Wilson’s main arterial roads include Leach Highway, Albany Highway and Manning Road, and it borders Waterford, Bentley and Cannington.

Wilson boasts large areas of parklands, including Canning River Regional Park, Centenary Park and Thomas Moore Reserve.

Wilson has been identified in the City of Canning Draft Housing Strategy as an area suitable for an increase in residential density.
There is proposed significant rezoning along Manning Road and throughout Wilson that will see revitalisation of the area and gentrification.
