Working with Overseas Investors
A special report for financial advisors and accountants
In recent years, information on the Australian property market has become more accessible to overseas buyers. This, in conjunction with more conducive policies for foreign investment, has created more opportunities for accountants, lawyers and other advisors to work with overseas clients who wish to invest in Australia.
Typically, overseas investors were previously found in either the high end (institutions) or retail (off-the-plan investors) segments of the market. However, we’re now seeing a growing sector of investors who wish to invest in Australia between these two extremes. This new market segment offers properties and projects that are large enough to deliver strong returns but small enough to be controlled by a single investor or family group.
In Working with Overseas Investors, we discuss some of the opportunities and challenges these investors face in the Australian property market.
